Fall

There is a new trail behind Helder Park that we have been walking and riding our bikes on almost daily the last few weeks. It is so peaceful and we just had to get some pictures with the beautiful Fall colors!
I love this picture. We don't have trees in our yard and it was the first time I'd seen Ty play with leaves. He loved them!

Ty's 1st fort!

Pumpkin Patch

It was a little bit chilly Saturday morning, but the the sun was shining and we decided to head to Post Family Farms to get our pumpkins (and donuts of course!). First stop.... feeding the goats! Ty actually really liked feeding them! He held out the food for them and everything! wasn't too sure about this guy.....

Second stop..... pumpkin train! I thought he'd cry for sure, but he let us strap him right in and rode the whole time.... As we were about to leave he even kept pointing and saying please, so we let him ride it once again :) He looks like such a big boy!

Third stop.... pumpkin patch! There were so many pumpkins to choose from, it's much nice going earlier in the season!

Not pictured..... us getting to our car to put our pumpkins in only to realize we lost our keys SOMEWHERE on the farm...... So the search began.... after about 20 minutes we actually found them!! They had fallen out of Nate's pocket on the hayride, and somehow, someone had seen them!! Thank goodness!! We had so much fun and now we can't wait to carve our pumpkins in a few weeks!!

Apple Picking

We finally made it to Cranes early enough in the season to get Honeycrisp apples this year! Usually, we never end up making it till the very end of the apple season. We ended up picking around 50lbs of apples..... it adds up fast! I'm excited to make some applesauce and pies!

Ty was our big helper! We'd hand him the apples and he'd put them into the bag :) He loved this job, till he realized he could get out and pick them himself!

Last Week of Summer

We truly enjoyed our last week of summer vacation. Nate, Ty, and I basically moved into my parents cottage for the week. We were ready to live it up!

I had to include this blurry photo because it is just so cute! All the boys had gone to the Michigan game together Labor Day weekend, and this jersey is what Grandpa had bought as a gift for Ty! Go Blue!!Every day was beach day! Ty loved going down to the beach. We'd go down for an hour or so, take a small break up at the house, and then go back down. He just couldn't get enough!

One morning my friend Kelly, and her daughter, Taylor, came for a little playdate. They loved running back and forth in the stream, playing in the sand, and splashing in the water.

One morning was a bit cooler, so I decided to take Ty into Saugatuck for a little mommy and Ty date. We had our hotdogs and fries overlooking the river, and then spent awhile walking around downtown, and finally hit up the playground. It's been three days into school, and I miss these day outings with Ty!

The best surprise of all was that Aunt Sara was able to travel to Michigan for the Labor Day weekend! We were all SO excited to see her. My twin brother and her are stationed in Germany. Colin had a 3 week training, so Sara made a trip to the States to visit family and friends. Although we were sad that Colin couldn't join, we were happy to get a part of him through Sara. Hopefully the next trip to the States will include them both!

School has started, and it already seems that summer was forever ago. We are back into the busy days of getting up early, getting Ty to daycare on time (which is hard for me right now!), working, football, football, and more football. We are excited to see what this next school year has in store for us!

Hudsonville Fair

Last week Amy and I took Ryley and Ty to the Hudsonville Fair. I love going to fairs, and Amy and I were both excited for greasy food, turtle races (ha!), and petting the animals. We walked through all the barns with all the different animals, and I think the favorite for everyone was the goat barn! They were so cute :) I couldn't believe how "into" the goats Ty was too. He was trying to stick his fingers in every cage that we walked by.

Now, we just have to figure out which fair is coming next, so I can get my elephant ear fix once again!! Thanks Amy and Ryley for a fun day (even though Donatello didn't win the turtle race)!
