A little catch up....

I really can't believe Ty will be turning 1 in 2 weeks! He has lost so much of his "baby face" and just is looking more and more like a little boy. Everyday is a new adventure with Ty, he definitely keeps us on our toes! Here's what has been happening in the VandeGuchte household in the last 2 weeks.....

Ty was very excited to be watching his daddy's favorite team win the Superbowl! Go PACK!

Ty and his friend, Ryley, are taking swim lessons together through MVP (Tiny Tadpoles :) ) Although it doesn't look like in the picture, Ty LOVES the pool. All he wants to do is splash, kick, and stick his head into the water. Looks like we are going to have a fun summer!

Ty loves to play in the kitchen.... opening and closing drawers/cupboards, taking out towels, spatulas, measuring cups (which are his favorite), and anything else within reach...

This is Ty's new thing when he sees the red light on the camera........ very cute, but it's getting harder and harder to get pictures with his eyes open!! :)

We have finally mastered drinking from our sippy cup, all by ourselves (without Nate or I holding it for him).

Last but certainly not least, I was able to get my favorite laugh of Ty's on video... so enjoy :)

Nate is wrapping up his basketball coaching and is beginning to prepare for Track season. We are all ready for the snow to be gone so we can begin to enjoy walks, playing outside, and the sunshine! We also know that the sooner the snow is gone, the sooner summer will be here :) Until next time......

Snow Day!!!

The VandeGuchte family, just like everyone else, was SO excited to have the day off! We were blown away when we awoke this morning and looked out our windows. All we saw was SNOW SNOW and MORE SNOW! I have to admit, I never thought we'd actually get that much, but for once the weatherman's prediction was right on. We were excited for a day of snuggling, watching movies, and lots of playing! Hard to believe we got about 17 inches basically over night!

Ty is learning his baby signs. He now knows "more" (which he is doing in the picture - he looks like he's clapping) and "all done". He tries to do them at the right time, but we are still working on that. haha...

So the rest of the day we hung around, did some hand stands....

played with Maggie.....

.....and worked on perfecting our walking skills!!!

Ty is gaining more confidence with letting go and taking a few steps! He thinks it is so funny when he does is successfully.

Of course, we've had lots of falls but I have a feeling that by the time we hit his 1st birthday he'll be a walking machine!

Hoping to have another snow day soon :)

Day off with Mommy!

I was lucky to get to spend all day with Ty! It was a work free and daycare free day :) We did venture into Nate's school to visit him for lunch. It was so nice, after a long week (even though technically it was a short week) to have some one on one time with my little man. Ty's been doing such a good job sleeping through the night and we were ready to start playing at 6:30 as always.... here is a peek at our fun day!

He rides and I zoom him (literally as fast as I can) and he thinks it's hysterical.

Ty loves looking out the window.... AND banging on it....

We are finally interested in our walker toy... He's had some good spills but gets right back up again!

He loves this Christmas present from his Grandma and Grandpa Murch.

This is Ty's FAVORITE thing to do right now... and I'm sure altogether we played this for about 1 1/2 hours total today.

He always crawls under things and then tries to sit up and realizes he is caught.... Mommy come to the rescue of course :)



You always know when Ty is starting to get tired because this is the only time he'll actually sit in one spot and look at something.....

And not too long after looking at some books..........
Now, we are up again and Ty's Grandma and Grandpa VG are coming over to babysit for the evening and Mommy and Daddy get a much needed night out :)

So it begins.....

So..... I finally gave in and am starting a blog on the VG crew. It's the middle of January, and our little man isn't so little anymore. Almost 10 1/2 months, 24lbs and 30inches long, he is becoming our little linebacker. He has began crawling EVERYWHERE and is non stop go - go - go. Here's a little bit of what we've been up to since Christmas....


My twin brother, Colin and Sara got married mid-Decemeber, and we were so blessed to spend a few days with them around New Years before they headed off to Germany. Colin has about 1 1/2 years left at an Army base in Germany! We can't wait for them to be state-side!

Ty loves to eat! In the last few weeks, at home, he has refused to eat most baby food and would rather have whatever is on our plates! He has proven to be rather picky at times and has also learned how fun it can be to feed Maggie! Although we don't think it's funny, Maggie sure loves to be by Ty's high chair when it's dinner time.....


Ty isn't quite sure what to think of the snow. He doesn't seem to hate it, but doesn't seem to be too thrilled.... He just sits back, all bundled up, and lets me pull him around on his sled. So cute in all his snow stuff!
Ty used to be so scared of this tunnel and now it is one of his favorite things! Great garage sale find :)

I really can't believe how big Ty is getting. His 1st birthday is slowly creeping up on us and I can't believe how fast time has gone. I have loved every second of being his mom and can't imagine life without him.
