Fun Times :)

This past weekend began the construction of a new wall in our basement, which eventually will create another bedroom downstairs! While the boys worked, the girls played with the kiddos! Some friends of ours, Jess & Drew, came over later in the night and Ryley and Ty just LOVE Jess and Drew. Amy and I at one point were being lazy upstairs all by ourselves while Jess and Drew entertained our kids (thanks guys! :)). We came downstairs and this is where we found the 4 of them. All 4 of them were enjoying the climber. Ryley and Ty loved climbing all over them. We are so blessed to have such great friends who love on our little ones!

Swim Lessons

So, I'm a little late posting this....Tonight we just had our 2nd week of swim lessons! We are taking 5 weeks total of swim lessons, and Ty has been doing pretty well. He is always eager to get in, LOVES sticking his face in the water, throwing the balls, and splashing around. He usually is ready to get out about 5-10 minutes before the class is over, but I have been able to distract him enough to keep him in the water the last 2 weeks. Today it was letting him dump cups full of water over my head, which he thought was just hilarious. Hopefully as we continue through the classes, he'll get more into staying in the pool the whole time!
Swim class starts about 5:30 which doesn't give us quite enough time to make it worth going all the way home and trying to get changed and something to eat. Kelly and Taylor live right next door to the Aquatic Center so we knew they wouldn't mind an extra play date and dinner together before swim lessons. They are definitely a fun pair to watch!

We CAN outsmart an almost 2 year old :)

For the last couple months, Ty has been able to reach the light switch in his room to turn it on and off. Most the time he just likes to turn it on, especially when he is not suppose to ..... like nap time.... and in the middle of the night when he should be sleeping. Lights on to him mean play time, which meant no naps and waking up at night. We finally decided to tape the light switch down. At first it worked, and then he figured out if he picked at it enough he could rip the tape off. I got a little smarter after that and really loaded on the tape, reinforcing it by taping it in all different directions. Well that was so much work we got to the point where we refused to take it on and off all the time, so we just had a lamp on in his room when we needed it. After doing some research, there are really not that many options of light switch guards. There are ones that are adhesive (yeah right, it'd take Ty like 5 minutes to rip it off - just like the adhesive door safety locks). Then there were screwed in ones that you had to reach from the side to turn it on (again, I bet after 1 nap time Ty would have mastered it). Then I spotted the jackpot on Amazon..... this little contraption screws in AND you have to push in a button WHILE flipping the switch at the same time. BOOYAH, not figuring that one out buddy :) No more tape and no more lights on when they should be off!
Good Luck Ty!

Just Because......

sleeping little ones are the best! :) Whether they fall asleep the moment they hit the pillow or in front of the door, I think everyone agrees that nothing is more precious than a sleeping little boy :)

Hello 3rd Trimester!

I just can't believe how quickly this pregnancy is going! I'm officially in the final trimester! I'm now going every 2 weeks to the OB which I really don't mind because I love getting to hear that precious little heartbeat! My doctor was very happy today to see my hemoglobin levels were up this appointment. Instead of taking iron supplements I've been adding iron rich foods to my diet to bring it up, and I was happy to not have to take something for it. So as long as I keep up with what I am doing, she says I should be good.

Nate and I have been talking a lot about what life with TWO kids is going to be like (mostly how chaotic it will be) and trying to wrap our heads around how to organize as much as possible before hand. Most of all, we have been wanting to make sure that it is as smooth as possible for Ty. We talk about baby much throughout the day, and he knows where baby's bed is, what clothes are hers, and when I ask where baby is he literally has to see my actual belly (whether that means lifting my shirt up or pulling my sexy maternity pants panel down) and gives her a kiss and says "baby!". He also thinks that there is a baby in his belly too so we are working on that one :)

12 weeks is going to come very quickly!
Ready or not April is coming!

Is it really February?!

We have had the weirdest winter this year! It seems we barely have had any snow and it really hasn't been that cold. Hopefully that doesn't mean that this "winter" will last extra long and Spring will be late......Yesterday was BEAUTIFUL out, and it felt like a beginning of Spring day and yet it was only February 4! We decided to take advantage of the nice weather and took Ty to the park. He was so excited and we spent a good hour letting him run like crazy on the playground. I wouldn't mind a few more days like yesterday! Makes me very excited for this Spring/Summer!

Florida

Nate and I had a quick trip to Florida this past weekend! We spent time soaking up the sun and catching up with my dad. It was a very quick trip, and our longest time away from Ty. We knew he was in great hands though and probably was having too much fun and didn't miss us at all... haha. We soaked up the sun, got a little burnt, went kayaking, watched beautiful sunsets over the ocean, ate LOTS of great food, and slept for 12 hours STRAIGHT at night (yes!).
